DRESS CODE AND BEHAVIOR STANDARDS:

This Formal event requires participants to adopt the dress and behavior guidelines from the “For the Strength of Youth” pamphlet. Unfortunately, those who do not adhere to the guidelines will be turned away at the door. Young women should wear clothing that covers the shoulder and avoid clothing that is low-cut in the front or the back or revealing in any other manner.

Young men are encouraged to dress in Formalwear (Tuxedo) or Coat & Tie, and should also maintain modesty in their appearance.

All should avoid extremes in clothing, appearance, and hairstyle. In other words, save the T-Shirts, Mohawks, Pink Hair, tennis shoes, and other crazy stuff for your High School prom, and bring your Tuxedo/Coat and Tie/Dress, best manners and courtesy to this one! You will never forget this evening, so come prepared.

Security Statement

There are over 50 chaperones and security people assigned to this year’s formal. The two parking lots will be staffed from the beginning of the evening until after attendee’s have departed. Attendee’s have the opportunity to be escorted to the Ballroom at the beginning of the evening and to their cars at the end of the evening. We are encouraging attendee’s to utilize the two designated parking lots. In the event youth park somewhere other than the designated parking lot, escorts will be available to take them from the ballroom to their cars at the end of the evening.

Georgia Tech campus police have been contacted and will be monitoring our event and have indicated they will be available should a need arise.

The main entrance will be the only entrance and exit to the facilities that will be utilized. Security will be stationed on the lower levels to monitor those who enter and to provide assistance. There will be approximately 30 chaperones assigned to monitor the main, upper level and ballroom.

It is recommended that driving directions be printed out and taken to the event.

An e mail will be sent two days before the event to all registered participants with a map to the event. Below are driving directions to the formal.

DRIVING DIRECTION TO FORMAL

Driving south on I-75/85 into Atlanta:

Take Exit #249D (North Avenue). At the top of the exit ramp, turn right onto North Avenue. Cross Techwood Drive (the first light) and continue on North Avenue to Cherry Street and make a right. Make a left onto Ferst Drive. Follow Ferst to Visitor Parking Area 3, the first right after the Student Center Parking Deck Area 2.

Though there are closer parking areas and metered parking on the streets, the Visitor Parking Area 3 is the most economical parking area. If "Lot Full" sign is posted, please try the Student Center Deck Area 2.

Driving north on I-75/85 into Atlanta:

Take Exit #249D (Spring Street, West Peachtree Street). At the top of the exit ramp, go through the first intersection (Spring Street). At the next intersection (West Peachtree), turn left. Continue on West Peachtree for approximately one block and turn left onto North Avenue. Cross over the interstate and Techwood Drive. Continue on North Avenue approximately two blocks to Cherry Street. Turn right onto Cherry Street. Go to the stop sign and turn left onto Ferst Drive. Go down Ferst Drive past the Student Center parking lot on the right. Park in V-03 just past the Student Center Visitor Lot (on your right), or return to the Student Center lot if V-03 is full.

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

Tickets are limited.

  • Registration for members is open through April 11th.
  • If you are attending with a non-member (limited to one) you may invite them to register beginning March 14th.
  • You must be a Priest or Laurel, ages 16 - 18 to attend, and currently enrolled in high school.
  • Agree to abide by the "For the Strength of Youth" standards.
  • Photo ID and Ticket are required at check in.
  • Come with or without a date!
